Da ist schon schade, aber was soll`s vieleicht klappt es ja am Montag mit der Zustellung. Sie ist ja schon im Auslieferungslager der DHL bei Berlin.

Dann haben die Jungs und Mädels ja was richtig gutes in der Hand, um die
Streikparty mit etwas Musik zu versorgen.

Die armen Kerle und Mädels müssen ohnehin die liegengebliebenen Pakete in der Folge abarbeiten und insofern haben sie gar keine Arbeitsersparnis wie z.B bei den Lokführen.
Bleibt zu hoffen, daß sie am Montag kommt.

" The CS21-11 is a wildly original and exciting Custom Shop interpretation of the traditional D-21. Each piece of wood was hand-selected and weighed to achieve the lightest weight possible. Only the lightest 10% of material weighed was considered. Adirondack top and braces, Madagascar rosewood back and sides connected to a Cedar neck with Madagascar fingerboard complete the package. Hide glue and T-Bar truss rod are the Custom Shop’s nod to the pre-war greats of Martin's past. This light weight beauty produces heavyweight tone. To recap, this guitar is, like the Authentics, but with a friendly neck suitable for rapid playing and not club-like as is a stout stick used for pummeling. The instrument is constructed by hide-gluing the bridge, neck, braces top and back to body; it has 5/16th Adi bracing, highly flamed Koa top, back and side binding, heel cap and end piece; the back and sides are solid Madagascar (fraternal twin to Brazilian, both born to Mother Dalbergia).

The neck shape is exceedingly special – individually hand-carved (you probably didn’t know this) by one Aaron VanWhy (“Lookin’ good, there, Aaron”). The headplate decal is “old style silver (large)” and the tuners are Waverly Model 4071 nickel-plated with Snakewood knobs. Nut, bridge and end pin are bone and the latter two have select pearl dots. Now you know the story of the CS-21-11, a guitar this good may seem made in heaven; it plays real easy and rings with alacrity – and yet it came from the Martin factory! A total run of only 179 of this model guitar were made by C F Martin in the year 2011.

Here are the specifications: It is completely made with hide glue – an Authentic feature. Very few Martin guitars are made with this manufacturing appointment. Hide glue is more difficult to work with than aliphatic glues but when it dries it produces a sound that is so transparent it’s like wearing a pair of Bose Model 15 noise reduction headphones and being transported on your own little special flying carpet ride to, um, Toledo. Getting there is really all of the fun. It is made with mahogany blocks and a dovetail neck joint. The top is Adirondack “Red” spruce, sanded to .105”. The top braces are Adirondack, scalloped some are 5/16”, and some are apparently ¼”. The Martin name for the pattern is DOMRSTL - Pattern 1C. The top binding is highly flamed Koa. The top inlay is .040” maple and .042” B/M/B Fiber. The rosette is three-ring, with fine herringbone. There is no pickguard on the guitar although there is a tortoise shell color pickguard in the case. The case is a custom one, model D-14F, with silver embroidery on both the faux alligator lid and the interior form fit shroud.

The back is Madagascar rosewood (which is getting really hard to find these days – we understand it either is or is about to be put into Appendix A of the CITES Treaty along with Brazilian). It has 2-piece back panels, and the purfling on the back is 00-21GE fine herringbone. The center strip inside the guitar is Sitka spruce and stamped “C F Martin & Co., Nazareth, PA, Made in USA.” The back binding is highly figured Koa; the back inlay is .040” maple. The sides are, of course, also Madi with an endpiece of highly flamed Koa bordered in .040” maple. The end block is solid genuine mahogany; the neck being 14-fret Dreadnought with a T-Bar truss rod. The neck is solid flamed Spanish cedar; the neck shape is Custom Shop Profile #1 with a ‘30s style heel. The headstock is sold, six-string, with a diamond dart on the back, and the heel cap is black ebony. The headplate is Madagascar ebony; the headstock decal is “Old Style Silver (Large).” Tuners are Waverly brand #4071 nickel with snakewood knobs. The scale length is 25.340 (which is 25.4”); the nut width is 1 ¾” the width at the 12th fret is 2 ¼” and the string spacing at the bridge saddle is 2 5/16”. It has grained ivoroid side dots, Style -21 pearl fingerboard inlay including select abalone squares – one at 5th, two at 7th and one at 9th fret. Standard belly bridge and fingerboard are black ebony; bridge and end pins are bone with Paua shell pear.

Nun, sonst verhalte ich mich ja sparsam, habe kein Auto, Geliebte oder fahr sonstwohin in den Urlaub, rauche nicht, nehme keine Drogen, trage meine Klamotten brav auf, koche selber, meide Schankwirtschaften etc.

Na ma kieken..., Schönheit und und ein straffer Körper sind nicht alles, wenngleich sehr willkommen.
Habe ja schließlich zwei andere gute Teile dafür veräußert und ich erhoffe einen entsprechend fetten Sound aus dieser Schönhiet.
Die OM GE war super, mußte aber zurück, da ich doch letztlich eine Dread für mich klanglich und ergonomisch besser finde.

Mal eine Frage an die Dreadfraktion:
Würdet ihr das beiligende Pickguard draufkleben oder aus klanglichen Gründen eher nicht?
Ich finde beide Varianten, also ohne, als auch mit Pickguard ganz schön.
Allerdings "korespondiert" dieses rotbraune M.P. und das gülden Koabinding ganz wunderbar mit der ebenfalls rotbraunen Färbung des Guards.
Was für Probleme?

Würdet ihr das beiligende Pickguard draufkleben oder aus klanglichen Gründen eher nicht?

Auf jeden Fall würde ich es aufkleben, ´ne Dread ohne Pickguard ist optisch nicht komplett für mich.

wg. klanglichen Gründen: Sicher sollte man das abwägen, v.a. wenn man einen echten Unterschied zwischen Fichten- und Zederndecke, zwischen 12er und 11er Saiten, zwischen Klampfe mit Zargenradio und Klampfe ohne Zargenradio (analog mit / ohne cut), etc. hört...

Das Ding ist ja nun extra "light weight" konstruiert und so dünn gebaut, daß es eben resonieren soll wie ein "prewar Martin", deshalb würde ich notfalls sogar dem ästhetischen Bild den Nachrang vor den klanglichen Vorteilen geben, wenn es dennn was bringen würde.

Klanglich wird's keinen Unterschied machen.
Die Martin Pickguards solltest Du Dir aber vorher anschauen. Bei meiner GE war ein ziemlich mieses dabei, sehr verpixeltes Foto-Muster. Da würd ich lieber auf Greven oder Burkett/Firestripe oder ähnliches umsteigen, die sind optisch wie haptisch einfach klasse. Und wenn vorher noch keins drauf war, ist optimale Passform und tan line auch kein Thema, muss halt nur der Radius passen.
